MUSEUM-ON-THE-GO
An Outreach Program
Our first program, the Museum on the Go, was developed in 2005 as an outreach program to serve all children of Sonoma County regardless of language, race, ethnicity, gender, or socioeconomic status. Since its inception, the Museum On the Go has served more than 9,000 children and their caregivers at over 140 events throughout Sonoma County. Many of these events have been in low-income neighborhoods and under-served schools or institutions.
The Museum on the Go also travels to many family-friendly community events giving parents and caregivers the opportunity to play and discover science, arts and nature alongside their children. Generally, these events are free to attendees.
